Gillies unwell

As many of you will know, Gillies Haughton was unwell for some months last year. Since the summer 2006 he has been back at work and doing well, but unfortunately the condition has recurred and he has to go back into hospital this week.

We wish him all the best and hope for another speedy recovery.

    Gillies

If there was any justice in the world you would be better tomorrow.

As one of the people who have had the benefit of your kind and clever learning, I will be one of many, many people from all corners of the world who want you to get better soon. Not one for shows of emotion, but if I were I would be able to say how much I have appreciated your teaching, and even more your warm and generous personality. Hope this isn’t too pedestrian a way of saying thank you and wishing you well.

    Very fondest wishes

    Cathy

    Dear Gillies,

My teacher forever!! My teacher, who always gave me encouragement, when I badly needed one.

I believe there is sunshine waiting for you after the long and dark tunnel.

I really enjoyed my studies in Edinburgh, and you taught me how to do it! Back in Korea, I have cherished my memories of Edinburgh, which you have a great part in. And the time there motivated me to want to do more studies. Gillies, I am really hoping to see you again, when I return to the UK someday. You will be there, won’t you?

I will always remember you in my daily prayers with my son.

    Yours,
    Ahjung

    Dear Gillies:
Could u see our messages? We’re very sad that we can’t work with u in the remainging semesters and everyone misses u a lot.
Do u feel better in the 2 weeks? I believe everything will become better and better and u can overcome the illness finally. Still remember your address, it’s “Hope Place”, then it must be full of hope, right?
We will study hard and not let u worry about our dissertations, but u have to recover soon, and I will do my best to bake a “successful” cheese cake to invite u and everyone….remember this when I had a meeting with u? so please be healthy again, God will bless u.
    Cheers, Joanna

Hi everyone, thank you for your kind wishes. I have had my first round of treatment and am back at home. At the moment I have to return to hospital every second day. I had been looking forward to being in hospital longer both as an excuse for not marking the 3rd assignment and for not doing any Xmas shopping – but now I have to do both! For the moment I just have to stay healthy and wait for the next round. I appreciate your messages and will let you know when there are further developments.
All the best for Christmas and a very happy 2007 to you all.
    Cheers
    Gillies
